TOPIC: I cannot help but admire Trump

I cannot help but admire Trump 3 Years, 9 Months ago
His comments on Ghislaine Maxwell are exactly what a decent human being should say and not at all what a President or celebrity conforming to media instructions should say.
Likewise his attitude towards Covid19 strikes me as correct. This trivial virus (to most) has so far only killed 140,000 Americans. Last Flu season in the USA killed 61,000 and that was WITH a vaccine in place.
To pander to the media (who want it to be a biblical plague) is a mistake made by almost every political leader.
How a country (or the world) handles this nasty virus (to the vulnerable) is a matter of debate. Stop the spread - concentrate on protecting and treating the vulnerable - or a combination of both.
But however you deal with it, total lockdown, disaster for economies, causing millions of other deaths - is NOT the way.
Unless, of course, you believe in and obey - THE MEDIA!

And a friend confronted with a witch hunt (Maxwell) should pander to the media by saying, at very least, "if she is guilty of these horrid charges she deserves everything she gets".
As opposed to "Innocent until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law (NOT of public opinion, shaped by media). I wish her good luck".

There are times when I really admire Trump for daring to challenge conventional behaviour. There are other times (the stupid wall) when I am in total opposition.

If Trump has faced false allegations himself, perhaps that's what he thinks Ghislaine Maxwell is facing. But he has qualified his comments, so has left himself the possibility of rowing back. It will be interesting to see if he does.

“I don’t know – I haven’t really been following it too much. I just wish her well, frankly,” Trump responded. “I have met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach. But I wish her well, whatever it is.”

Though I'm still doubtful about VRG, I'm beginning to wonder whether there is some truth in the claims against Ghislaine Maxwell. See page 2 below, expanded on later in the document. Would multiple people really have come up with various different lies against her while she was unable to produce anyone to contradict them?

Yes, me too. But what sort of bonkers world is it where wishing someone well is considered shocking and horrible?

Such a refreshing post JK.

So many cases can't go ahead or have a fair trail due to social media and trial by media. Yet the gutter press and News networks moan when no one speaks to them.

Journalists have no self awareness.

Fair Point

Re:I cannot help but admire Trump 3 Years, 9 Months ago
In a too often proven unfair system, a fair point would be.

"I wish well to all concerned for Justice.
Which must always include all complainants AND defendants. Any of whom can become 'victims' if true justice is not fairly served."
