When entering a UK pub, customers are met with a wide ranging variety of responses and instructions. From the rigidly enforced to the haphazard.
1. Some outlets will immediately insist your hands are sanitised, that you provide test and trace information and direct you to a table to await service.
2. Many provide no direction/interaction (or require sanitation/information) - and just assume the customers will look out for themselves.
3. Others use COVID to apply customer profiling. A party of 4/5 who want to eat will be welcomed - whilst a lone drinker will be told that all tables are booked.
But, in many places (probably the majority), staff don't now seem to be really aware of the government health guidelines after just a few weeks.
You are forgetting about the magic, Admiral Benbow.
Covid 1984 only strikes in certain places.
It is immobilised in a school building with snotty children, but is virulent in the open air at a concert/rave.
You mustn't see your doctor, even if doesnt need to touch you, and could wear a mask, because the magic makes this a very dangerous situation for the doctor. He is sure to be infected.
You can go for a pint with your doctor if you like though.
He is magically perfectly safe in a crowded pub.
