The Phantom Thread and Michael Jackson 3 Years, 4 Months ago
I loved this film when it opened in cinemas (I'm a huge Lesley Manville fan; no so much Day Lewis). But watching it again the Daniel character reminded me of Michael. I remember after seeing his incredible moondance for the first time (a Motown birthday concert in LA), afterwards at the exclusive party, Michael came in floating in the air, so high on the incredible standing reception from the concert, and I took him to one side before anyone else could speak to him. It took me ten minutes tugging him down to earth again. He was not only a star but a genius. They are never entirely normal.

Jackson was one of a kind. The best person in the last 40 years for singing and dancing. However the moonwalk was created by Jeffrey Daniels from Shalamar, who performed the dance on top of the pops in 1982 and taught Michael how to do it.
