Watching the various footage with the so-called "patriots" almost frothing at the mouth, screeching obscenities at the police..and I digress..

chanting "USA, USA" - what the hell is that about? "USA"? I mean, yes they are in the USA ..it would be like anti or pro-vaccine folk marching on Downing St and chanting "London, London" or " England , England" or "Sunday Sunday" (if it was) which is stating the bleeding obvious yet completely meaningless.

But I'm truly puzzled by the MAGA Mob as D.Trump hasn't introduced one single policy that benefits them in any way or form (and many that will be detrimental in the long run not that they think that far ahead..such as relaxing environmental laws so places like Yosemitie National Park can be drilled for oil)

Millions of Yanks have a good grievance about an economy that hasn't worked for them (since Ronald Reagan went far right aided by Bill Clinton who followed up), wages that have basically gone backwards..a whole host of grievances.

Yet there hasn't been one single action by Donald Trump that benefits their lives in the short or in the long run.

Everything Trump did was to benefit the legendary 1% at the very top.

No "tremendous" new health care system as endlessly promised , big tax cuts for the top strata of rich which were never pumped back into society as claimed, no revived steel or auto industry as promised and many policies that actually devastated traditional Republican communities like farmers with his inexplicable China tariffs that benefited no-one (even the rich) but simply put prices up for Americans and devastated some farming industries like the huge Soy Bean market to China who went elsewhere.

These fierce Trump Loyalists obviously had no idea about Trump's NYC failed business career where unions boycotted him unless contractors were paid up front at every stage because of his history of bilking them (he ended up using 100s of undocumented workers ("illegals") and often didn't even pay them as they had no legal recourse) 1000s of unpaid ex-employees and small business owners in his failed Atlantic City casino (who sends a casino broke?) investors who lost millions in his bankruptcies, not a single NY bank would lend him money and 90% of legal firms wouldn't represent him because he never paid bills and so on.

And then came The Biggest Loser which resurrected Donald Trump's image across the USA and in true Television / Film history where reality can be altered, turned one of America's biggest business losers into the opposite. Over the years he was projected into millions of US homes across the country as The Winner with an ace business brain.

# when I worked with 4 Miss Universe Trump employees for 2 weeks (and never got paid) at drinks at night when they relaxed they would say how much they loathed the man but thought the experience with Trump would lead to better jobs but often found, when applying for a new job that It did the opposite- prospective employers were hugely skeptical about them & they never got a cal back.

Yet, yet for the rusted on MAGA Mob, in the opposite of the history of politics not one single benefit ever flowed to them in the last 4 years (even The Austrian got Germany's economy going gangbusters- for a while)

It's a mystery.

It is similar with the Tories here. They got a massive blue-collar vote for Boris. Not that labour are exactly the party of the people either.

But I don't think it is a mystery. It is just about making people believe that things that aren't going to make any positive difference to their lives actually will.

Such as Brexit here or Trump's wall in the US.

People don't do complexity or detail any more; just emotions and soundbites.
