Very interesting and I had no idea this was the case. A presumption of guilt remains to be overturned even when a conviction has been ruled unsafe, it would seem. They might as well just wink and say "no smoke without fire eh; you aint gettin' a penny me old son...". Not that I imagine the biggest sticking point would be the money for people who have been through wrongful convictions.
