I fully agree. Why on earth wouldn't you be sorry for someone who has lost a family member? unless you are a monster.

I also fully agree. Offering condolences is the human thing to do. It seems that Mr Ashworth has now apologised for his actions, most likely under orders from his leader. The action of offering condolences showed that he was in touch with his deeper feelings. However, as his feelings conflict with the media’s rules of how everyone must feel and act, he has been forced publically to denounce the vital link with his deeper self. He will be suffering in private now. The 'furious' public reaction is extremely unpleasant but not as hard to bear, in the long run, as inner conflict of conscience. The incessant anger and fear generated by the media, effectively confuses and blocks people from experiencing their deeper feelings.

Well said md. I would add to this that we are effectively now being policed in what we are allowed to say to a greater extent than I have ever experienced. The mass disconnect between what people really think and what they feel they can safely say must be deeply unhealthy for individuals & society.

there is no reason to disbelieve his later statement but I bet it's ignored.

Just a small example of how the media dictates belief these days, often devoid of fact.

This was used effectively against Jeremy Corbyn as he was (falsely) and relentlessly painted as "antisemitic" a "spy" a "supporter of terrorists (by attending a grave site) with "extremist policies" etc etc.

Despite each claim being shown to be a blatant lie ..the lie remained as "truth".

Thank God I'm an atheist and sceptical of all religions.

I'm an atheist too GM. But so was Stalin who introduced a 5 year plan (1932-1937) to eradicate all religion in the Soviet Union...I believe we should not shy away from calling this what it was: killing in the name of God.

Packer remembered nothing? Clearly, he didn't study logic as a youngster. You can't remember - you can't anything - an absence...
