TOPIC: Covid and Great Britain
#216228
Covid and Great Britain 2 Years, 4 Months ago
"We know that two vaccines don't work and we know that three do, so let's get boosted" says our stupid Health Secretary. Oh for God's sake! I worried about the AZ vaccine being rushed out (Headlines!) before being tested on a single person over 60 (the danger area). OK, I've had the booster so I should be OK but it strikes me that if for months about 50,000 a day have tested positive yet only about 100 a day die, this implies Covid is no more lethal than colds or flu. Doesn't this seem common sense? It really is beyond me.

Yes it is no more dangerous to individuals than flu. The real danger (perhaps) is to an under funded health service as Covid spreads much more easily than flu so will cause so many more hospitalisations. This is what this is now really about. Lack of NHS capacity. Not death; if it ever was.

Yes, but you only seem to die "with" covid, and not "with" flu, so we still don't know the answer.

Yet to say covid is no more dangerous than flu is probably inaccurate.

As determined by most experts and verified
by worldwide statistics.

We all went to work with the flu. The media and government have decided to keep us indoors for covid.

Presumably because there's a possibility that this new virus could continue to escalate.

The only virus that's infected all areas of the world in about a year.

Also pick your report and scientist. I could find many that show no difference in mortality rates between them. Typical Barney hiding behind a (commentless) link rather than ever engaging with the real questions. I tried one last time the other day to see if he would; but of course he hasn't. Waste of space. I won't engage directly with him (if I know it's him) anymore.

Thank God we've got such a great Government Barney (not). And thank God scientists can be printed saying Covid (now) is so much more dangerous than flu was (before vaccines). You really have a brain the size of a pee.

If you had flu you were NOT at work.

I am pretty sure that Barney knows full well the difference between colds and flu, and is simply tormenting us for fun.

Never heard of Barney.

But it seems a different view is frowned upon here. It's completely impossible that someone just may be wrong!

Most aspects of the fast mutating covid are still unknown. Vaccines only work sometimes.

Like another, relatively new virus. The incurable HIV, still killing folks daily, in every country. Just like covid though not as many.

Yet.

You know full well that different viewpoints are encouraged and welcomed, Barney.

Could somebody moderating confirm that this is actually him, please?

If ever any other poster or reader is in doubt about whether "Barney" argues with sincerity remember this nasty post. He is clearly a sad and unpleasant little man; best avoided.
