This trivial media story (nothing else going on in early January) will fizzle out; if it's decided the parties should NOT have taken place, the person who organised them and misunderstood the rules will be fired (who cares except them?).

Meanwhile police go on killing people; politicians go on obeying media on Covid and killing thousands as a result; stupid Brexit continues...

No, everybody who attended the parties and all those who didn't go but said nothing should be fired.

Hopefully that will cover the whole rotten stinking government.


I don't think it is possible to misunderstand the rules when people in your own work team are making constant announcements to reinforce them.

I've never gone along with the opinion that someone who is excellent at their job (which very few politicians are) should be fired for breaching some other rule. I simply do not care whether those working in the environments of 10 Downing Street gathered together outside. I don't care if every one of them broke the rules. I think the Tories have been dreadful under Johnson but were equally awful under May and Cameron. I think the Government worked OK whilst the Lib Dems had joint control. I think it would have worked better under a Labour/Lib Dem coalition although I had no faith in the stupid Lib Dem woman (and not much more in Ed Davey). But we all know it's MEDIA that runs the world with simple slogans. "How can the Prime Minister have enjoyed a glass of wine on the very day my Dad died?". Oh, for God's sake!

Also (I know nothing) but if it's worth ten seconds of thought... was it illegal to attend a place of work in May 2020? If NOT, could "a place of work" NOT be outside? If it can be outside, can the garden at Number Ten be considered part of the complex - all connected - which includes Whitehall? If all that is correct, was it illegal to drink when meeting in a place of work? When is a meeting "a party"? A difficult line in the sand to draw. Media and opposition might say "the moment someone says Lovely Day Today it ceases to be a meeting and becomes a party". All in all, apart from the fact that this trivial issue does not deserve eleven seconds of my brain, who cares?

I think the press coverage is great though as it makes it near impossible now for the Gov to introduce any more pointless restrictions just for political reasons.

The parties are interesting as well as it shows that they were not personally worried about catching Covid given the knowledge they had.

And that they had personal contempt for the massess who were following therestrictions.

But yes there are more important things the media could be concentrating on!!

Both Tories and Labour will use either house parties and gatherings as a football. Both parties are full of shit, unelectable and the next General Election will have a very low turn out.

Boris said that he "Take back control" he has taking control of lives but not the borders. He got Brexit done but talk about a rubbish deal.
