This more or less means that
a/ David Tennant leaves Doctor Who at end of next season
or
b/ There isn't going to be another series after the 2008 one

The Royal Shakespeare Company have announced their 2008 line-up, which features David Tennant in two roles.

From July 24th until November 15th 2008, Tennant will be starring in the title role in Hamlet, alongside Patrick Stewart playing Claudius. Fans of the new series will also be excited to note that from October 2nd until November 15th 2008, Tennant will be playing Berowne in Love's Labour's Lost. Love's Labour's Lost was a major plot point in Series 3 episode The Shakespeare Code.

Got to say that Hamlet with both Patrick Stewart and David Tennant sounds superb.

I can't help but wince at the thought of Tennant playing the role of Hamlet. Did you ever see the early 80s' BBCTV version of "Hamlet"? Derek Jacobi was badly miscast in the main role but the saving grace was Patrick Stewarts' Claudius. I feel very tempted to go along to see this production just for Stewarts' performance alone. Been to quite a few RSC productions over the years and have always enjoyed them. They did great productions of Dickens' "Great Expectations" and Chaucers' "Canterbury Tales" a couple of years back both of which will remain with me for the rest of my life!
