The BBC piece on disabled girls in Ukraine but it's not the situation in Ukraine that is distressing; it's the sight of these poor children. There must be thousands similar in every country. Why can't we help them?
The elderly and the disabled have always been an inconvenience to any government.
The elderly who paid in to the system in the past are now a burden. The disabled there are millions who can't work, rely on either families or neighbours to help with shopping or chores.
However the carers allowance benefit is a joke. I know some house husbands who do their wife's 24/7 hour for a lousy £70 per week. Which most use to pay the household bills or weekly shop.
