Interesting piece in the Mail on Sunday... 16 Years, 8 Months ago

on the Hotel Cipriani, which I ate in this summer.

I believe the Excelsior on the Lido is a far better hotel in Venice. Their motor launch stops at the Cipriani, in which I have stayed in the past.

The rooms are far smaller and the views less spectacular (check the views from my suite in the Excelsior in Photos).

And prices? I paid under

Watching Brad Pitt getting out of the launch in Venice, it's nice to see all the big stars in the Venice Film Festival stay in the Excelsior. I wonder if he's in my suite?

It was definitely the best in the hotel (as you can see from the views from the balcony in our PHOTOS section).

He's probably sitting enjoying a cappuccino and croissant in exactly the chair I was sitting in!
