Who else? They are all useless. They all obey the media and the media only cares about a good story. Democracy doesn't work; the majority remains uninformed, uninterested in anything other than selfish matters (including media telling them they will "feel good" if they support some silly crusade). Superficiality rules. Boris will survive and is canny enough to retain position even if, like Trump, he has a period of time off. The public is stupid but, worse, doesn't care.
I reckon Jeremy Hunt might be a decent PM and I quite like the look and sound of Emily Thornberry for Labour. Always impressed by Nick Clegg and thought Vince Cable seemed capable. But I know nothing - only, like everyone else, what I see, hear and read in the media.
As I have taken the decision to stop voting until a political party presents itself, independent from the disease of instant media reactivity and grounded in principal and vision, I won't even consider voting for anyone.
Who leads the Conservative party is of no interest to me, as I won't be voting for it. Likewise Labour and Liberals. I simply watch the unfolding circus, with sadness for my country.
That said, I think the Tories would be mad not to vote Boris out at this opportunity from the perspective of their careers; and have a suspicion of an upset later, followed by Boris "doing a Trump" and trying argue the toss and hang on...
Amazing defeat. Looks certain the Lib Dems and Labour will win the bye elections. But does anybody really want Davey or Starmer either? I certainly don't. We are led by incompetents.
Yes our politics is in a dreadful state, I'm afraid. This is a huge wound for Boris and the Conservatives. It will play into Labour/Lib hands. But by a margin as they are so uninspiring too. Until the politicians stop preening for the media this will just get worse. The change has to come from us, organically, upwards. But given how most people live their lives, how?
It's humanity though. MPs care more about Boris seeming untrustworthy to public (and media) than his appalling "deal" on Brexit where he always intended to break contract (stupid sea border!). Or him lying to the Queen. The public, the media and most politicians can only see the instant good stories; never the complex problems with complex answers. We are like scorpions stinging ourselves to death because of flames, incapable of finding more intelligent alternatives.
And let's be honest - this is the way the Century goes; very few Republicans want or wanted Trump but the man has charisma like it or not which is all that matters these days. Boris would be an excellent dinner party guest. Who cares about either of their policies, moralities, leadership skills? Ditto Paddington Bear in Ukraine. His abilities are trivial compared to his TV skills. No wonder our brilliant Monarch knew that marmalade sandwiches were far more important than silly votes in stupid Parliament.

it's a broken system..FPP and non proportional representation is not very democratic.
Of c course most people cannot acknowledge the influence the media has - nobody admits they have been brainwashed. Rather like police behaviour - I would never have believed it possible had I not been through it myself.

I agree. However, even if the system was perfect, we are still left with politicians who mistake dancing around the media for leadership, and fancy themselves rather clever in the process. Until this disease is addressed democracy is an illusion; because the people we vote for aren't the ones who run the country.
