Part of the reason might be the "Randy Andy" label and his reputation for being pompous. If it was someone portrayed in a more likeable/bland manner like Prince William (who also looks so like Diana) people might be more inclined to believe he'd been blackmailed. Because some people are jealous if you live in a nice castle, and would rather we did away with the courts and simply burned the accused on a bonfire instead.

The reason is that the media decides who is guilty and people follow. Oh they are careful with the exact language legally, but it is so easy to convey guilt without straying into legal problems. Sleazy senior Royal, young girl, great story. Even The Queen can't stand fully up to the power of the media. Like the politicians couldn't with Covid.

I know the media are now shadow doxing. During the George Floyd trial the talking heads gave some description of the jury. They gave away professions, age and sex that's more info than the public domain needed to know. If I was on the jury and they gave away my profession to the public live on air, what else do they know about me or you ?
