TOPIC: Gay Pride Mince

Gay Pride Mince 1 Year, 9 Months ago
London is impossible today. Roads closed; one way systems reversed; stupid rainbows everywhere. I was one of the originals for changing the laws and changing the media and social agenda in the 1960s. But this whole PRIDE thing is stupid; just as nobody should be ashamed of their sexuality, so nobody should be proud of it. Watching straight wokes mincing about in rainbow colours offends me.

I did go to one once..we marched to Trafalgar Square and Tom Robinson sang "Sing if You're Glad to be Gay"

I think it was in 1954

Yes I don't get it either. A few years ago in my quiet local pub a gay couple (male) I am friends with arrived with an elderly guy dressed up like Quentin Crisp. He spent the the evening loudly re counting his various sexual activities on commons and in toilets etc over the years. What point he was making in this day and age escapes me. No one in the pub could give a damn about his sexuality. My friends were hugely embarrassed and apologetic, me and the other regulars just very BORED.....

That is the problem. Back in the 1960s we really had to fight. It was a crime to love anybody of the same gender, whatever age. Most of us who fought are now in late 70s, 80s even 90s and have become frozen in time. The rest consider it a fashion statement like being involved in Black Lives Matter or MeToo.

Yes I sometimes get invited to go on pride marches living not too far out of London and having, as they say!, actually gay friends (am straight). I don't because I don't like marches in general and it seems to me patronising and diminishing to the real struggles over the years many have had to go through. Ditto footballers taking the bloody knee. There are of course idiots who still hate difference - there always will be. But I think these kind of movements take away from the real battles we should be having in 2022.

I have several gay friends also. They are embedded with Pride marches and flags. They said they had few insults in the past from hooligans but nothing to make them fear for their lives or run to the police about. They never mention or speak about their sex lives like I don't. It's private.

They hate drag queen story hour in libraries and raunchy goings on at Pride where kids are at present.

A while ago a fee people were marching with rainbow flags. One of my gay friends said to them "No body cares whilst hands". I responded "These 2 came out before it was fashionable ".

The looks we got back.

Have you thought about leaving the cesspit called London full time JK ?

I never got why people have to jump on the bandwagon when the cause is nothing to do with them.

It's funny that big companies put the Pride logo on their social media but don't on their Middle East pages. If people want to make a differnce then the likes of Peter Tatchel need go to the Middle East and try and convince the governments it's okay to be gay. Of course they won't do. It's the same reason why climate hippies won't go to China to protest.

The pro abortion people are against guns but are ok to kill children in the womb.
