I remember the seedy the comedy clubs in NYC back in the late 80's which were no holds barred but not everything was swearing or about sex or the women's monthly.

Just clever jokes and the black Rev who did it some times was amazing. He would be classed as an "Uncle Tom" or a "black honky" if he did it today.

I forgot I had a second Gay Pride incident..20 years ago on a visit to Sydney & there was a huge event called the Sleaze Ball attended by 1000s.

I wangled a ticket by telling a gay magazine I'd photograph it for them.

It was full of wonderful drag queens and endless pretty people (of all sexes) snapped by me.

The magazine editor hated my pix. He wanted clones..butch looking clones and said "you have no understanding of gay politics" which is probably true.
