I ate at one of favourite comfort food place in London last week, Troja.
Considering it is so close to the South Bank it has never ceased to amaze me how tranquil it can be getting a table and sitting outside the restuarant, eating their very spicy and wholesome Eastern dishes.

I can never resist the minced lamb kebabs there, and it can be quite surreal sitting whilst everyone is smoking that strange fruit flavoured inscence, in big silver pots, after a meal, which is on the menu, but I know nothing about whatsoever.

They can be visited at www.waterlootroia.co.uk, if you can`t get in, there is a line of at least ten restuarants in a row there, by City Hall.

Home cooking wise, as Autumn approaches, the pumpkins and squashes have started to appear in the groceries, so tonights recipe is Marinated pumpkin and Halloumi cheese kebabs.

Cut the squash , a medium size one will do, and marinate with dried chilli ,garlic, olive oil and mint , cube it and bake very low for about 2 hours.

When it has cooled, check to see how thick the skin is, purely for edibilty, if it`s too thick, rip it off.
Cube the haloumni cheese and thread skewers with cubes of squash, cheese and onion.
Heat the grill or griddle pan, and cook fast for about 5 mins a side.
Serve on salad, garnish with lemon, and put a hot salsa on the side.(rice additional, if you require more starch in yuour diet)
