Nostalgic drinks; one night out in Morocco I came across an old 60's favourite, not tasted since then.

Quite delicious and refreshing with ice and lemon; Campari and Tonic.

Brings back memories of Joan and Leonard.

I only ever had one of those, I can`t remember the flavour but I know that the bottle was never touched again.

My entry to Nosdrinkia would be Pernod and Blackcurrant.
The favourite "in New Wave" drink of 1979-80 which turned your tongue a very apt dark purpley black and was often served in plastic tumblers at gigs.
A slot that has no doubt been filled by something blue and fizzy in a designer bottle these days.

Campari and tonic is very dry. Interesting, I haven't had any in years either. I can still hear those ice-cubes though.

On another level, was that really me drinking lager and lime on that photo? Surely not. Pernod and blackberry sounds like a proper mind-blower (as does anything with Pernod in it).

It used to be sold with the slogan, "In Paris, you drop the D". One ad featured a 50s glamour girl with her nostrils hooked up to a battery charger. Headline: "Claudine went to the Ladies to pow-er her nose".

People used to put lemona(d)e with port as well I recall.


Adding that to the list, still goes to show what was available before alcol-pops for the sweet tooth in need of a tipple.
I don`t think Pernod was that mind blowing, just cheap, the sweet strong drink was and still is I imagine Southern Comfort.
