Diana Inquest (Is this what we have to put up with) 16 Years, 6 Months ago
Sorry to sound heartless, but apparantly this pointless inquest (verdict Accident) could last six months. So is every day's news headlines going to be about Diana and the inquest. Even BBC1's news is jumping on the bandwagon.

I could not believe in The Sun today, they have six bloody pages on it, I sure the Mirror, Mail and Express will have the same.

Prince Harry and William called for Diana to rest in piece and to stop printing her in the newspapers, yet they yet again have blatently ignored them. So disrespectful, but then they don't give a toss.

I will not be buying a newspaper until they stop printing it.

I feel sorry for Fayed, but I feel the inquest should be held behind closed doors, sadly that will not happen.

Do we think this is all simply madness with the tabloids convinced that pretty blondes sell papers or is the majority genuinely fascinated by car crashes?

Is this the Christians and Lions of the century?

As they are not mentioned above...

I feel very sorry for the Jury.

I totally agree with that JK and I feel that if she was not a pretty blonde, then she would not (10 years on from her death) still hogging the headlines.

If that would have been a average looking woman/guy, then it might occupy page 28 on the tabloids.

Yes some might feel Mother Teresa was more worthy of constant attention.

The irritating thing is, if the inquest does indeed confirm that it was an accident, Al Fayed will no doubt spend years appealing for another one of equal expense and futility.

If Prince Phillip turned round and said 'Actually I did get a mate in MI6 to fiddle with the brakes, pay hush money and collude with the multitude of ambulance drivers, journalists, doctors, police, hotel staff, forensic scientists, coroners, Mercedes-Benz etc etc.' what would he do then?

Yes apologies there Mart, as the jury certainly have one of the most difficult jobs in Britain.

I can't imagine Fayed being happy with them if they post the envitable 'it was an accident' verdict.

My point entirely on this very board when this subject last raised it's dreary head. And has someone else has mentioned aside from glazy eyed housewives in Cheam, I think most people are bored stupid with it.I'd rather see an inquest into the death of Robin Cook as I still believe his tumbling down a mountain in Northern Scotland was probably planned. But red headed 'gnomes' tend not to capture the imagination, unless situated by a garden pool.

I too agree that far too much attention is being placed on her, however I also feel that there is never smoke without fire as it were.

Diana herself said she feared for her own life and wrote that it would be a car crash that 'got rid of her'.

I can only add that it will solely be due to Mr. Fayed's soild financial backing and alot of effort on his behalf to uncover the true story. The Fiat Uno is still a mystery - as is the white flash that supposedly blinded the driver. Remember, Mr. Fayed is primarily interested in getting to the bottom of his son's death and it is the papers that are bringing the Diana angle to the fore (in the UK at least).

Most road deaths can have the last moments pieced together so that there are no loose ends (driver clipped the curve here, had a blowout there etc.) but it seems that the same is not true of this tradgedy.

What a shame it has not been resolved yet for all involved:(.
