"if you want me to be totally honest" and he'd followed it by saying "the reason I'm not calling an election is because I might not certainly win and I'm not a fool" I would probably have voted for him.

Since he actually said "because I'm giving you a pile of political shit lying answers" I probably won't.

Surely the better answer would have been , "thank you for your input, but we are are a bit busy at the moment and actually in charge".

No matter what he said I wouldn't vote for him. In politics, like many other fields, actions speak louder than words. He's part of one of the worst governments in British history. No thanks.

This is all a non-story.

There never was any prospect of an election, When did Brown say he was going to have one. It is an entire fiction.

Inventing something somebody never intended to do and then condemning them for not doing it is really very silly.

(There was not going to be an election because the electoral role is being updated at the moment and wouldn't be "printed" until November - so an election would have used the out-of-date information and if it had no doubt the people who invented this non-election would be decrying that.

Frankly this whole thing is pathetic that shows the lack of solid political alternatives and complete lack of policy.

It seems if you can't hang a fellow for what they have done then invent something and use that as a stick to beat them with.)

from a personal point of view, Cameron has come accross like a particularly annoying yappy dog in this issue.

I feel this has not been highlighted because people do like an election promising change.

As for Brown "allegedly" leading us up the hill to an election (Sky News 12.05 pm), I don`t see anything wrong with a current leader sitting there waiting for a challenge.

I`m not a supporter of either particularly, but that`s how it seems from here.

Oh dear - it gets worse.

"It's all down to me" which he felt was bravely shouldering the responsibility but which actually came across as he's going mad like Blair did.
