Christopher Neil, trial by media 16 Years, 6 Months ago
He's already been found guilty before he's even been charged!
Now I really don't know if he's guilty, but with all that press coverage he'll never get a fair trial,in whichever country he's charged in.
Suspicious how the Thais suddenly found an abused boy so quickly. The place is a real den of underage sex.Nobody seems to care unless some US government money is around, then they always manage to grab some western guy, parade him in front of the media...etc,etc,etc.
I've been to Thailand 3 times late 80s/early 90s.The police were the main supporters of underage sex prostitutes.Taking bribes from brothels to let them continue child bondage. It's been covered up a bit due to NGOs,but local Thais continue to be the main abusers, and generally get away with it.
Be interesting to see other comments on this one.

It's certainly true that some Thai authorities can be unbelievably corrupt and most of the under-age sex trade is controlled by Thai nationals.

However meddling police forces from the US and other western countries have been pressuring Thailand for years-not to end the trade but co-operate in sensational busts, supposedly to send a message back home.

This is true of the drug trade as well which merely sees one or two individuals from the West in a sensational bust in Bali or somewhere similar-while the hard drug trade is run and organised by Thai and Burmese army generals and continues unabted.

The way in which Thai police parade people who have been charged is disgraceful-and never underestimate
the involvement of foreign police forces
I doubt this guy could ever get a fair trial anywhere and we will never know the truth.

Are we sure the photograph was even genuine..I suppose so..would they lie ?. Or have you seen the manipulated pic of the unfortunate Brazillian electrician shot dead on the underground.

And remember the supposed Jon Bennet Ramsey killer ?. Got himself a business class flight back home and to freedom after a media frenzy.

2 dodgy factors at work here : a media that is gobbling itself up with 5 minute sensations to a bored public with no information rentention capacity anymore , and police forces that have become politically motivated, egged on by politicians who ignore the Sepration of Powers.
