TOPIC: Gone With The Wind

Gone With The Wind 16 Years, 6 Months ago
Is it the greatest film ever made? I ask as I watched it last night at my Mother's house on TCM. It was screened twice yesterday, we watched the later screening...9pm to 12.50am. It is awesome! From start to finish. It has everything. The first time I've seen it through from start to finish (shame about the ad breaks...but it did give us time to compose ourselves...blow noses...make tea..my sister was there too). A wonderful Sunday evening...the best I've had in a while. I know what JK is going through this year...and the whole event reminded me of how important family are and how we all stick together know matter what bad vibes may infiltrate from the outside world. But do you agree that GWTW is the greatest movie of all time?

Wonderful fillum but best ever?

I'd be stuck for choice.

I adore To Have And Have Not where you see Bogart and Bacall falling in love - plus she is one of the most beautiful women in the world...

A diificult choice, I know. I think GWTW is because you live it...for four hours (a small but neat little morsel of life) when any other four hours would be so mundane. Clark Gable is utterly fantastic as Rhett Butler. Even my heart started to flutter as he carried Scarlett up those stairs. LOL. Big, bold, brash, and very camp. A bit like a certain person I know.
