GB News, Wooton, Fox 1 Year ago
I don't watch GB News - it sounds far too right wing for me. I did watch TalkTV last night to see Harvey Proctor discuss anonymity for innocent victims of False Accusers (I think it wasn't exactly called that) with Feltz. Can't stand her. He was fine but I thought the station looked terrible (caught Kevin O'Sullivan before her - terrible). When I did radio/TV in New York in 1980 I was told this would be my retirement career and I'd make several million a year (I was very good). America is way ahead in quality of talk on radio and TV.

But whether you like, hate or are indifferent to a station is not the point. Like Russell Brand, I don't go along with the Establishment conspiracy theory. But I do wonder why - when there has been a concerted campaign to take Wooton off air (hasn't he been accused of Huw Edwards type behaviour?) - he has suddenly been cancelled on both GB News and the Mail for, basically, finding something amusing which others find offensive.

I find all this offensive. I don't, however, want anyone silenced.

I prefer it if the right wing has an outlet.

As objectionable and boring as I find most of these people, I find cancellation far more problematic. GB news should absolutely exist in plain sight.

GB News is not necessarily a right wing channel. It is more of a free speech channel, and definitely more brexit supporting than right wing. It does have 1 former labour mp hosting a show (Gloria De Pierro), but 4 currently serving Tory mps (Reese-Mogg, Lee Anderson, and Esther McVey and her Husband). I would have to question the balance of two tory mps interviewing the current conservative chancellor of the Exchequer.

I always took it as right of centre outlet, like Fox News it's more centre these days. GB News is full of neo-cons. I can't think of one thing that makes the Tories a Conservative Party.

I have no idea how and why Dan Wooton got a gig there. GB News got even more shit after they fired Mark Steyn for debunking all the MSM, WEF and big pharma over the widow-maker. He was GB News biggest weapon in their arsenal.

Sacking Mark Steyn after he had a heart attack was fucking low. GB News fired him because they got a lot of Ofcom fines and GB News wanted Steyn to pay them. If I was in charge I just pay the fines and keep Mark Steyn on.

I only watch GB News online from time to time. It always has sound issues.

I watched a bit of Talk TV it was unbearable. Jerermy Kyle is a dope and a bell-end and Vanessa Feltz is a nasty woman off screen a gobdaw she truly is. (I have a lot of stories from friends and family)

Don't get me started on the fat oaf Mike Graham. I met him personally and his personal hygiene is wretched like attitude.

Want to meet nasty celebs? Then go work in hospitality.

Sharon Osbourne is unwatchable and very narcissistic like her father was.

A free speech channel that has sacked two presenters this week for speaking?

What is free speech? If it is not saying what one wishes to without repercussions and being silenced, then it is freedom to speak within parameters set by others. It is constrained speech.

Not always a bad thing given what offensive children GB sets up as "presenters". But let's not allow the right or left wing to mug us off with this dreadful, meaningless phrase.

Free speech does not exist. It is a phrase used to push agendas. Speech is value laden, and comes at a cost, always.

Yes I think commentators should offend as many people as possible, as often as possible.

Its ok if you're a Jo Brand, who throw battery acid at Nigel Farage.

She kept her jobs. Sorry, I like to know where the joke is in that.

Jesus, there is tons of people I have met and worked with that I despised. I don't wish them in harm not even in a sick jovial manner.

We don't have the First Amendment here, even then it does not allow you to spread death threats.

Same here but I'd prefer it even more if they bring (whisper) R T (whisper) back on our screens.

I don't want just Western propaganda as to what is happening in Ukraine, I want to hear it their side as well.

She didn't actually throw battery acid at Nigel Farage, but suggested that the milk shake someone threw at him, should be battery acid. Very inappropriate I agree. I don't think she actually had a job to lose anyway, it was just a one-off appearance on a panel show. I think that was just before the days when people got sacked for saying something outrageous. I remember Clarkson saying that all nurses should be taken out and shot, yet nothing happened to him at that point.

Clarkson reminds me of the kid in class who teachers by their first name, then tells the class is leaving the school. The class throw a party at the end of term for him...then you see him at the new term.

I never understood the BNP or their polices. However Nick Griffin is right here. The media are full of double standards and celebrities are vile and at the same time they preach about tolerance and being kind.

Imagine if the roles were reversed, the media will go in to a frenzy and there will be riots on the streets.
