Likewise I never watched Cheers Honey but was vaguely aware of Perry through chat shows.

I think you mean Friends rather than Cheers JK! For millions of my generation, young and living the single city life, Friends was very resonant. I quite liked it and Perry was a charming comic talent. Very sad news.

Thanks WYOT - I've not been a fan of those US comedy shows for some decades.

It was that pathetic creature impersonating me again, I am afraid.

I do know who Mathew Perry was, and I found this trick of Barney's particularly distasteful.

Cheers was funny, Friends not so much.

Yes I always preferred Cheers too Hedda; and the original Frasier series...

Same here. I thought Cheers and Frasier (and the Golden Girls) were quite good, but based on clips of Friends, didn't watch it, as it just didn't seem funny. It's a shame that this actor has died. I watched an interview with him on YouTube and it seems that his drinking and drug-taking had left him with serious intestinal problems that required several surgeries and brought him close to death. He said that when he was a tiny baby and cried a lot his parents' doctor had prescribed them a powerful drug to quieten him with and it sounded as if he wondered if that had contributed to him becoming an addict.

People wonder I don't trust medical science and GPs.

Josef Mengele was a doctor.

Would you want Linda Hazzard to be your dietician?

Wyot, don't tell the next Dr John Adams about your wealth.

Any bloke with foreskin problems leave it or the next Dr John Money will burn it, then try turn you in to girl and then force you to have sex with your sibling.

I was more of a Coach, Home Improvement and Married With Children guy.

King Of The Hill is the best animated sitcom IMHO, the humour is dry and quick.
