Rolf Harris latest ITV ghastly shows 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Truly idiotic and vile; no balance at all; much more in A Victim Bites Back (as he is unable to) but I strongly suggest you buy and read William Merritt's book for balance.

Were any of the four accusers (or three, one's dead) from the first trial speaking or just women whose allegations he was not convicted of in his second and third trials, e.g. Karen Gardner?

I bought William Merritt's book some time ago and found it fascinating. Must read it again. I wonder how many of the ITV people who made the programme have read it, or even know it exists.

I know little about the details of the case apart from media coverage, reading the book and watching shows like this but it is apparent that many of the False Accusers genuinely believed their exaggerated tales (inflated over the years, especially through media) but the reality was that Rolf had an affair with his daughter's girlfriend after she was 18 that lasted 10 years. Apart from that he was very much a tactile 60s man - lots of hugs and kisses and well intended remarks ("behind those dark glasses you're a very beautiful girl") which, due to media morality adaptation, now look like appalling insulting sexual abuse.
Much like Savile's case. Both are now, conveniently, dead. I wonder how many civil suits are now in process against Rolf's estate from corrupt law firms. After the helpful TV shows, dozens I suspect.

I expect that getting compensation or media payouts would encourage false accusers to appear to be convinced of what they're saying.

It seems that Karen Gardner was in the ITV programme, and spoke out yet again when Rolf Harris died. Photos/video clip of her here:

'Very few of us escape the impact of evil people... for me it was Rolf Harris': BBC Radio host who claims she was assaulted by paedophile three times when she was 16 breaks her silence after disgraced star's death

"Breaks her silence" indeed. What a joke!

That Daily Mail article also refers to Vanessa Feltz's accusations against Rolf Harris. I just don't believe that he could have, live on camera, surrepticiously inched his hand up her leg to her knickers, gathering the material as he went, when she was wearing a heavily beaded and what looks like figure-hugging dress weighed down by her ample bulk. In the photo she also has her legs tucked up under her and pointing away from him. He'd have had to lean over her and wrestle his way up the dress. For him to even access her ankles, she'd either have had to be facing away from him with her feet pointing towards him or lying flat on her back with her legs straight out, neither of which seems likely if she was interviewing him. As far as I'm aware, no footage of the encounter has ever emerged. I wonder why.

There used to be a video on YouTube of her being interviewed on the red carpet at the premiere of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, about conmen, with a story of how she was conned by doorstep salesmen who did her roof. I wondered if she had a ready anecdote for every occasion.

Yes Jo I'm sure there are many who invent or exaggerate for various reasons. But I think there are also those whose minor encounters get genuinely inflated in their own minds and the enhanced memories become as true to them as reality.
And I think it does nobody any favours to assume people were "totally" innocent.
I'm a Prime Example.
I knew I was breaking the law at the time, considering it absurd that the age of consent for males was 21 where for females it was 16.
I'm sure Rolf, like Jimmy, was "touchy feely". Generally well intentioned - perhaps every now and then crossing the socially accepted line. Easily done.
Judging THEN by the laws and morality of NOW can be very dangerous.
I strongly suggest you watch my series.

One of the best A.V.B videos JK.

I did show the video to a Beatles I know. He still thinks Lennon is straight. No straight guy would lash out like he did to Bob Wooler then mention the 'Fag in me' to justify the violence.

Talking about alphabet musicians Lou Reed, sounds like every New Yorker I have met, they are quick tempered loud, obnoxious, arrogant narrow minded and only their opinions is correct. However they are interesting people.

Awful piece again by Vice.

Also I bet Lou Reed sang what he witnessed in New York, like the whores, violence, mindless attacks on women, endless trails of heroin needles and rent boys.

Some chat over on this thread on Mike Read's page.

Someone who knew Dale Winton said he told him stories you wouldn't believe
about people who would make headlines and he had pictures to prove it.
