TOPIC: Dumbledore is gay...

Dumbledore is gay... 16 Years, 6 Months ago
JK (the other one) made it pretty clear in Book Seven and it's one of the many reasons I love her as a writer; whilst it becomes a crucial part of the plot it is not flagged up or glorified in any way. It's a simple and natural element of her fantasy world and as such remains no more or less; just as it should be in THIS world.

Love is a crucial part of the human existence and should be cherished but it can cause good and bad things to happen.

Just like eating - which can nourish life or provoke death, depending on the individual and the substance consumed.

Sorry but couldn't resist that little joke:laugh:
Actually I only heard about it the other day, wasn't she speaking in America, and let it out?
They'd have hung her back in Maggy's 80s for that.Just shows how far we've come since then...well except Iran:ohmy:
Good on her for being open and honest,it'll make it easier for kids growing up who happen to decide they want to be gay,and need acceptance in their wider community of peers.

In "Maggie's 80s" it was cool to be gay. It was the decade that Elton John and George Michael came out, and we had Boy George, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Marc Almond, Marylin, etc. in the charts. I always think of the 80s as the Gay Decade. I don't think anyone would have been hung back then.

Some people thought I was gay in the 80s because I wore unfashionable flares (weird reason) - though actually I am not gay - and it made me more popular. I didn't twig the reason for a long while and I found it quite amusing afterwards.

I heard that JK Rowling said Dumbledore's gay side wasn't even featured in the books. I've not read them so I wouldn't know either way.
