Just surprisingly resignedy as Liverpool's manager after nearly a decade - winning the Premiership and the Champions League and other trophies.

Only 56, but worn out from the extremely heavy playing schedule the game now has. Right decision - £10m a year isn't enough, and he's a manager for 24 years.

In a few years, he'll return - but doesn't want to burn himself out like many of his predecessors who allowed stress to take over.

Often causing illness, marital difficulties, alcoholism etc. Nowadays some have gap years after university; perhaps the highly successful should have too.

I have enjoyed having him in the Premier League; always smiling and doesn't seem to take it all as a life and death matter...

Coincidentally and also unexpectedly, Xavi has now resigned as Barcelona manager - and is the prime candidate to replace Klopp. World Cup and European Champion with Spain, having played around 500 games for Barcelona winning La Liga several times. A Barcelona contemporary of Guardiola (Man City) - with a similar scientific approach to training, lifestyle and player selection. Bookiies firm favourite.

Yes and all so unimaginative and boring isn't it...

Chelsea's manager Emma Hayes is possibly the most successful manager in English football history. Appointing her when she leaves the Blues at the end of the season would be an interesting move.

This, isn't.

Utter tosh. Klopp is a magnificent person, perfect for Liverpool. Xavi isn't the main candidate, Alonso is, but there will be due diligence.

Re:Klopp 3 Months ago
Ha!

Why no top ENGLISH coaches and owners in the ENGLISH Premier League?

Why so few FOREIGN coaches and owners in the SCOTTISH Premier League?
