TOPIC: Violence towards MPs
#241542
Violence towards MPs 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago
Huge increase since the Gaza war started and everyone condemns it but nobody seems to be asking WHY. And surely the problem is that some cross the line but everybody feels politicians have been dreadful across the world. Hamas should immediately have returned the hostages - possibly because hundreds of thousands of NATO troops should have moved into Gaza and forced it. Israel should not have invaded Gaza - NATO forces should have gone in and ejected the invading troops. Israel cannot be allowed to kill thousands and cause incredible misery to millions of innocent civilians. And we all, across the world, cannot understand how our "leaders" have not done something about it. SIMPLES!!! DOH!!!

I agree there is general frustration but also a specific islamic/activist problem in Western countries that adopts thrests, intimidation and sometimes violence.

I don't think we know how to deal with it and stay on the path of "political correctness"/respect for diversity. We are tied in knots currently. It needs to be addressed or the racist haters will just grow off the back of it.

I think it is linked to the general erosion of legal principles of justice and due process.

People should be dealt with by authorities blind to ethnicity or religious beliefs. The same way alleged crimes should be investigated without fear or favour against the now sacred concept of a "victim".

I agree Wyot, remember that racist haters come from all backgrounds...from my experience when I was in L.A (many moons ago) I was called all sorts of racist slurs.

The MPs are scared to lose their seats to ethnic minorities especially in Brum. It's bankrupt, corrupt and some parts are no go zones. Then again there are parts in the West Country I don't go in to, I know where some of the yobs hangout and they are dead handy with blades.

Remember a lot of the MP's don't venture out off Westminster, they don't walk out on their own at night by foot, not forgetting they are not using dodgy public transport. How many MPs live in pit estates and areas where violent crime is an everyday thing? Living in a gated street near the same street is not the same.

When they say walk around without issues they have minders who are not far behind. Sad-man Khan travels in a convoy full of bullet proof cars, Boris cycled and jogged all around London.
