You could see the genuine affection between Dave and Si. I will miss their travel and cooking shows very much.

Very sad news, just watched a couple of episodes on the Food channel from 2009.
Lovely show, something i hadn't watched before.
A sad loss. R.I.P. Dave

They both met on the Michael Elphick series Harry where Dave was Make-Up Supervisor
and Si was location manager.

Yeah, I heard that Dave did the make up on top of the pops in the early 80s, during the new romantic era. It seems difficult to believe that a very macho hairy northern bloke would be in charge of doing the make-up for Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran.

Just because a bloke has a beard and rides a motorcycle does not always make them macho. You should of seen some of the bikers in the parades along the West Coast. (Better not go there)

I don't know who the Hairy Bikers are, I don't watch TV. However he must of been a talented son of a gun to do great New Romantic make up for the stars and then go on to a succesful cooking show.
