TOPIC: Am I a music pedant?

Am I a music pedant? 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago
This really should be on the Tipsheet forum but that's mainly spam from Russia (nobody cares about music these days) but am I being too pedantic to point out to Pointless that the Burt Bacharach songs in today's show were NOT just Burt but mostly Hal David who wrote the lyrics (and the titles).

Interesting topic JK. When I was a youth we listened to music on public transport and swapped cassettes over, took home mates' cassettes after school to record at home. Now people have a digital library in their pockets but rather watch Tik-Tok for hours on end.

A lot of theatres have closed their goods since the plandemic so residents in small
towns or cities have their live music. Where I live we do have original bands or artists but it's NOT often and 99% it's tribute bands.

I attend if they are decent (Genesis tributes) because I try to support local things it's a use-it-or-lose scenario. What doesn't help is that hotels are hiking up prices or closing to the general public for migrants. Hotels in places like Bournemouth are closing for good due to dodgy owners some hotels in Dorset have closed without any/prior warning.

Don't forget ticket prices are getting way out of hand and I know someone who got 3 cheap tickets for Eagles in Manchester...the tickets are a fraction cheaper than Talon or Illegal Eagles.

I had an encounter with Burt Bacharat after one of his concerts in Sydney.

At the after party he noticed I had a small camera and he asked me to go up to his hotel room and photograph a pair a kid's sneakers put outside the door with some adult shoes and send him the pic (un-photo shopped Katherine ) Most odd.

But he was a great performer and I was awed by how many top songs he had written.

Sorry to be a pedant GM, but weren't most of them written by Hal David? (See above).

You need to listen to the few songs Hal David wrote Albert Hammond.

Then I am sure JK can compare the URL/IP.

I didn't know this so he was a collaborator with other composers which is quite normal.

When you sit through a 2 hour Bacharat concert you would be amazed by the extraordinary number of well known songs he worked on.
