Levelling up 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
If some areas of the UK are so in need of "levelling up" money, doesn't this indicate something systemically, fundamentally "wrong" with our society that needs looking at? More money....gimmicks....cash for votes.

After the election, the public are ignored, forgotten about and even more poor. Not forgetting the North will be more impecunious than before. Wales is fucked and they made it clear they don't want tourists...who wants to drive 20mph even on an open road in the first?

The government had no plans to save Tata but give the workers false hope and hoping it will survive until the next election which Tata did not. The UK does not make anything, we buy everything from abroad even if it's shit.

It is London that needs levelling-up, if anywhere. Most young people will never be able to afford to buy a house. rents take away most of their income (average £2400/month), crime is through the roof. For the top 5% it is a playground, who can enjoy the best of everything, but for everyone else it is crap.

If London is taken as an example, "levelling up" is revealed as nothing more than semantics.

How can it be achieved unless the whole system collapses? "They" don't wish this to happen; anywhere. So why do they pretend they wish for "equality"? Because if levelling up means anything it must be equality; otherwise somewhere - and some people - will always merit being "levelled up", in the opinion of the worthy.

When any society has attempted equality previously it has ended badly. A Conservative Goverment has utterly failed in driving up living standards when it talks like this.

The do I attended to was interesting, I spoke to some people who were college friends with my partner, they left Ireland for London.

Now they are leaving London for North of England or the East Midlands, they are fed up being charged all the time for driving or just being victims of crime.
My partner is an ex-copper and she is glad the left police left when she did. The wokery at the Met is beyond a joke now, if people get offended by messages, videos or meme's then stay offline, just use the net for work emails or college.

Even landlords are using their connections or bribes to illegally house immigrants in box rooms under the stairs for over a grand a month. JK use just sell his mews cottage for a few million and bugger to the Swiss Alps or the Carpathian Mountains and live like a king.

Wyot, is still bitter that London took Croydon from his beloved Surrey and Wyot has to pay a fortune to follow Johnny Moped around the capital whilst fighting off muggers and hoods.

I have no particular attachment to Croydon GM.

London is in fact one of the safest cities in the world. This is consistent with my regular experiences of being there - no trouble at all.

You need to stop reading and listening to all that "the world is going to hell online stuff"! Those sites say more about the people behind them than reality.

If London took more of Surrey or even Wyot Towers you wouldn't be worried?

London is not a malevolent being it is a geographical concept, with huge varieties of communities and peoples within it. If London grew as a concept to take in Surrey; life would remain the same here. There is also no passport control at the border GM and we speak - broadly - the same language

I am more shocked that you know The Wurzels. I thought they be too low-brow for your academic cerebral matter.
