You may well be correct about the benefits making some people take such risks with their children. It is hard to see why you would put your baby on one of those dinghys unless life in France was truly awful. Why he was so desperate I don't know but between ourselves and France we need to do something about it. Leaving the EU probably hadn't helped....

Green Man, you may well be born and bred in Ireland but I’m guessing you haven’t visited the old sod recently. Far from being a third world country, Ireland in 2024 is very prosperous - more so than the UK, due to that country’s stupid establishment going along with the nonsensical Brexit project.
Ireland has certainly become more multicultural in recent decades, but that isn’t a bad thing per se.

I do back a few times a year. Some parts are the same but so many of the big towns and cities are overrun by the Roma people and rows and rows of tents. It looks like California at times. California is a shit hole.
