It will be interesting to watch a debate with JD Vance (I have not read his book, it looks quite bland IMHO) he did serve in the forces. Tim Walt bottled it and has been accused with a Stolen Valor.

I doubt "stolen valor" is applicable for Walt's military career as he served in The National Guard for 24 years retiring to pursue a career in politics.
There must be dozens of US Congressmen and Senators who served in the forces and then left for politics. There are several I follow on Twitter who are doing likewise.
I think the Republicans would be treading on thin ice to pursue this matter with Donald Trump claiming bone spurs during the Vietnam War, calling US soldiers "suckers" or losers etc

I've just re-read the book and can't recall anything like that. He comes across quite well (though he is of course writing about himself). A few weeks ago a guy who ran a website that Vance used to write for was interviewed on TV and said Vance was very smart, but his opinions were changeable. I wondered if his mother's rackety love life might have contributed to that, as she apparently had a new man almost every year, was married five times, and no sooner had Vance adjusted to one guy than he left and another one moved in. So if he's capable of such a turnaround on Trump, maybe he's inclined to be a chameleon. No extreme views expressed in the book, but his ambition definitely comes through.
There's talk that Trump will never praise Vance because it means he, Trump can be replaced by someone as smart as him should something untoward happen.
Supposedly Vance was imposed on Trump by billionaire Peter Theil in exchange for a large donation.
Worrying that Thiel a real right winger has said the conditions in the US are the same as in Weimar Germany pre-45 but he fails to explain how or what should be done about apart from help electing Trump.
Trump will attack Medicaid and pensions as Project 25 says along with getting rid of pensions and so.
But will any of these things happen?

Starmer is a left-as-they-come, borderline Commie, he has taken allowances from old people, they are screwed even if they are even a few quid over the threshold.
Rayner and Reeves will be happy when the old die from the cold in their homes they can use houses for the boat people. No one from waiting lists or people looking to get on the housing ladder will get a look in, let alone look at the back garden or front door.
Where are the jobs, doctors, nurses, dentists for the masses? There are more people than jobs, I am sure Blair encouraged useless degrees so young people can stay away from the Jobcentre for a few more years.

Labour have always been anti-Jewish. In some cases a lot of Jewish people are very clever business people so they can't be won over by the race card.
