I used to love this show as a kid. It was such a groundbreaking show. 3 Hours of live tv every Saturday morning with live music, celebrity guests, competitions, and a live outside broadcast with the late Keith Chegwin inviting the public to swap unwanted items. it set the format for Saturday morning tv for the next 30 years. Technically Tiswas came before it in the Central region in 1974, but that was anarchic and unstructured with no formal presentation style. It was more of a wacky comedy show.

In 1993 I moved into a flat in West London. Got talking to the neighbour who had been there decades and she said oh someone famous used to live in your property. Turned out it was Keith Chegwin and Maggie, who lived there when they were doing Swap Shop.

What on earth has this got to do with the multi-coloured swap shop honey? Are you implying that the yellow dinosaur who didn't appear in the video looks like saville?

What yellow dinosaur? Anyone reading this after the videos vanish (as they often do) will think we have been on the magic mushrooms.
Nothing to do with Savile or Noel Edmonds. Just wondering if the dinosaur was a tv or book character, as so many of the swaps were.

I think you are referring to POSH PAWS (an anagram of swap shop) who was just a character on the show, made up by the producers, like Gordon the Gopher who appeared later in the 90s copy cat show "Going Live" with Phillip Schofield. The Yellow dinosaur I was referring to was the yellow character on the thumbnail of the Barney video, but not in the video itself. I thought you might think he resembles Saville because of the blondeness.

No. I just recognised him and couldn't place him. Thank you, Robbie.
