Notting Hill 3 Weeks, 3 Days ago
So the media especially Sky News said

Stabbings in Germany was carnage

stabbings at Carnival was mostly peaceful

Two tier media

Two tier police

Two tier Mayor of London

Two tier Starmer

Yes indeed.

Just watched Sky News getting called out by today's latest Dan Wootton show, weekdays at 5pm. A good watch, similar to his old GB News show.

How can a reporter list off a litany of violent incidents and disorder and then end with maintaining the peaceful narrative. It's a bit like saying the Titanic had a mostly successful maiden voyage across much of the north Atlantic.

Dan Wootton Outspoken - 26th August 2024.

I'm far from radical, just a normal everyday citizen, but like so many others much the same, I can no longer stand to put up with any of the increasingly brazen biased misrepresentation of what goes on across the UK by not just Sky but the BBC and others who think we will still just sit there and lap up what they decide to tell us at 10pm each night - or any other time of day.

I lived off Portobello Road for over 20 years and never attended one Carnival even though it was happening at the end of my Mews street.

Hate big crowds.

A fun, good natured "carnival" eh?

No carnival should take 7,000 police officers off other duties just to cover it. That's disgraceful, and nothing for the police to feel proud about.

Is there not a crime spike at the end of every August across London because of this?

It's disgusting seeing all that litter around, let me guess. They moan when giant rats and mice are roaming the streets and they blame their local council.

Why not hold the Notting Hill Carnival around London in the various parks, if needed have an all nighter in the o2/Wembley Arena or Stadium to celebrate Black and Urban music?

Forget about the 11pm curfew.

I'm sorry - the larger the gathering (for any reason) will include more loonies only there to have a bit of violent "fun" and will need more policing - and will leave more garbage to be cleared up. It's humanity. There are good bits, bad bits and in between bits in humanity. People need to grow up instead of taking the three word tabloid slogan headline route of "thinking" and commenting.

It has ever been thus with this carnival. 2017 12 stabbings 2019 18 stabbings. I dont know why media act so surprised and bores go on about "declining standards" and the "end of civilization.

Just look at Elizabethan or Victorian murder rates compared to now. Given what humanity is and can be, we live in largely peaceful times.
