Christopher is absolutely brilliant in the Tuesday and Wednesday shows - really BAFTA winning acting. Come on BBC - do NOT cancel this show. It is better than 85% of Prime Time TV.

Seriously - if anybody with a working brain cell at the BBC, in a position of power, is reading this - those two episodes should be edited into one and put out at Prime Time when the series ends as a tribute to the series. Excellent acting by all, terrific script, TV at its best.
Yes it is. Trying living in the real world. Can't get a doctors appointment for shit.
Hardly surprising with all the immigrants being let in left right and centre.

What world do you imagine I live in Carl?
We use the NHS and while yes waiting times are certainly longer than they used to be and it is less easy to access a GP for more minor stuff, it is not true to say you can't get a GP apt.
We all wished it worked like when we were children; when the family GP knew all of us by name and visited our homes.
But times change as does medicine: and we are all better off with medical treatment now than then.
Yes the NHS can improve and hopefully will but if you think it's problems are all down to immigration you are useful for Governments who don't want to take responsibility for declining standards, and lack ideas about how to run things differently.
Do you not understand that most immigration leads to increased tax revenue? This is what funds the NHS.

Stop letting the politicians off the hook!
It all depends where you live. When the local population triples and you still have the same surgery with the same amount of doctors and nurses, how can they possibly provide the same services?
It doesnt matter who the people are, it is just numbers.

If the Government do not put additional funds in and expand GP practices and resources (with the tax raised from immigration) there will be capacity problems.
The real question is how can the resources be suddenly found for Nightingale hospitals or funding Ukraine, but never GP surgery expansion? In areas where populations have tripled, the resulting tax revenue must support local infrastructure.

Lets get the thread back on topic. This is about the bbc series Doctors. I haven't watched much of it as I'm usually working during the day, but I know that it offered good opportunities for some excellent older actors to make a re-appearance like Angela Bruce "Only Fools and Horses", "Angels", Coronation Street") and Diane Keen ("Rings on your fingers", "the cuckoo waltz", "Here we go round the mulberry bush"), and many others. One of the few good things about Labour, and there aren't many under Starmer, is that they might be more generous to the great British Institution The BBC.

I'm not letting the government off the hook. I blame countless governments of all parties for opening the floodgates and letting all and sundry into our country.
That's the main problem. That's why it's almost impossible to get a doctors appointment, a school place for your children, lack of social housing etc etc.
