This will be particularly of general interest to fans of Ultravox,The Ants, Killing Joke, Magazine and bands of that era.

I opened the paper this morning and read the usual entertainment stuff and smiled at the "reunion" tour dates gigs advertised from a lot of 80`s bands that I knew well at the time, that didn`t spilt and actually achieved hits and was vaguely amused and nostalgic, none the least at how my then bunch of bolshy 19 year olds made such a mess of it, back as far as 1981.

Ten minutes later, I find a pile of finished backing tracks linked to my Myspace from a member of the act, a full 27 years after the events who has completed recordings of the material we were doing back then, of which I had no record.

We haven`t spoke in all that time, I do not have his address or personal e-mail or phone number and an intriguing journey is on the cards.
It would appear that nobody else has been tracked down from that time that was working on the project, despite,(also by coincedence) a London journalist of note who tryed to get comments 6 months back.

So, is it embarrasing work?
It`s not actually, it`s very well crafted.

The oddest thing is, here we are all these years after grappling with management companies, record execs, the dreaded support tour fees, and we can just go, what the hell!, and put the songs out.
And why not indeed?
