TOPIC: Zelenskyy's suit
#255766

Zelenskyy's suit 3 Weeks, 4 Days ago
A dim reporter at the White House meeting asks Zelenskyy if he has a suit.(2 American networks have now been banned from the WH but Russia's Tass got a guernsey)

Why didn't he ask Vance and Trump why they both wear women's make-up?

Zelenskyy will come out of this much stronger and hopefully it unites Europe.

Putin's meddling is not a "conspiracy theory", it's goddamned reality.(according to MI5 /6)

He's bought Lord Haw Haws by the truckload and it includes traitors like Farage and Boris Johnston who helped plot the anti-EU fiasco.

Bet the reporter wouldn't ask Elon Musk why he turns up to the White House/Oval Office in a baseball cap and casual clothes.

I noticed a comment from someone saying that it was the reporter's question that set the hostile tone for the meeting. Wonder if he'd been asked by the White House to ask it.

I still can't work out, based on what's been broadcast, in what way Zelensky was supposed to have been rude and ungrateful. All the incivility seemed to be coming from the US side.

That reporter asked a deliberately planted question because after he asked it Trump apparently winked directly at him approvingly.

The suit question was utterly ignorant and banal. Everyone knows exactly what it means and why he wears what he does. A serious journalist would never have asked that.

This whole thing was a giant willy waving contest, it was like two guys in the locker room waving their bigger ones in front of the smaller boy to make him feel inadequate and boasting.

Trump actually seemed to have no respect for Zelensky at all on a human level, never mind political level. I don't get that. Maybe he's jealous of him in some weird way. Trump doesn't like himself or America being disrespected but dishes it out in spades to others like that. Bosses know not to give a dressing down to a staff member in front of everyone else and in most cases will go somewhere private to do that kind of thing to avoid humiliation.

Another thing that gets me, Trump is always quick to insult people and nametag them even in his own domestic politics, like Crooked Hilary or Sleepy Joe, or even his own Secretary of State, Little Marco. All over the place people have been given insults galore, about their looks, their views, even their wives and families too, yet Putin never has and he treads very gingerly around that man and other Russian politicians. So he threw some hard truths at Zelensky, how about some very hard truths at Putin next.

A high ranking member of Putin's cabinet has just said the bullying was pre-planned. How did he know?

Trump and the dead beat Vance's ridiculous threats to go solo are a joke.

The US has 100s military bases around the world including dozens in Britain which are there by the good graces of the host countries.

For instance in the middle of the Australian desert is the highly secretive US spy station Pine Gap and not one single US military action can take place without Pine Gap's help.

It's been there for 50 years and it cannot be placed anywhere else due to all manner of atmospheric reasons.

The US cannot afford to lose it (for their own safety). The world needs to read the Riot Act to the aggressive fool Trump.

The midget is used to getting his own way but the look and sound of things, Trump refused to give him money and rightly so.

Starmer will give GI Joe the billions he wants, Starmer can protect Ukraine but not the Kent coast.

Re:Zelenskyy's suit 3 Weeks, 3 Days ago
I think I was more shocked at Vance who I've liked because I thought he was cleverer than to do that. He's very very young to be in that position and obviously has a lot more to learn now he's on the world stage alongside Trump. If you look at it Trump deliberately handed over to Vance to begin the attack on Zelensky. They cooked that up between the two of them, because any other President who saw his VP going off like that would have intervened quite fast and moved on, not joined in the ganging up against another nation's President.

If Putin had been sat there and refusing to "do a deal" does anyone for a minute think Trump would have had the balls to dish it out the same way, dream on. If he was being equally tough on Russia it would be more palatable but he's not.

I think Trump has personalised this, but how about thinking about the 40 million back in Ukraine.

It was good to see Zelensky go straight onto Fox News with a very decent 20 minute interview from Brett Baier in which he spoke of his country as not "just territory" but people's houses and neighbourhoods taken over or under threat from Russia. He humanised it very well.

At the root of this is Trump's desire to get some quick "peace" glory for his own personal ego I think. I've even heard Megyn Kelly on her show this week wonder whether Trump could be in line for the Nobel Peace Prize if he helps end this war. Obama got one, he probably wants one. He will never get one I'm sure about that, whatever happens.

Another thing, instead of a second State visit for Trump how about inviting Zelensky for a State visit instead or as well as. Symbolism is vital right at this moment just as much as money and weapons.

Now the midget GI Joe, is London with his begging bowl again, I am sure Queer Starmer has a suit or 2 he can give to Zelenskyy they are roughly the same build.

Starmer will write a cheque out and send some troops over. He can protect overseas borders just not Dover port.

Re:Zelenskyy's suit 3 Weeks, 2 Days ago
speaking of midgets..the pettiest of insults as no-one has control over their height and let's not even mention Trump's shoe lifts...

another war time hero "midget" Sir Winston Churchill (a few cms shorter than Zelenskyy) often turned up during WW2 to events including the White House in military style uniforms.

Zelenskyy said at the very beginning of the Russian invasion that he would wear the uniform of the Ukraine defenders, 100,000s of ordinary citizens fighting an invader. It's meant as a tribute to his fellow countrymen

The whole despicable set-up just reflects on those who planned it and shows a pointless vindictiveness especially as Ukrainians are gathering around Zelenskyy to support according to local polls.

It also high lights how Trump avoided military service in Vietnam and his extraordinary insults about deceased US infantry being "losers" and
suckers".

I completely agree with your assessment of it all, Rich.

That reporter was apparently from some pro-Trump news outlet. I doubt that even Fox news would have asked that crass question.

I wouldn't be surprised if Donald "bone spurs" Trump is jealous of Zelensky, who could have fled Ukraine and taken up offers of sanctuary but didn't, and feels outclassed by him.

That's interesting. Sounds mad, but maybe Trump told Putin. He does seem to consider him his friend. With the apparent sympathy for Russia among Trump and Co, it wouldn't be surprising if the Trump administration leaked like a sieve and was vulnerable to Russian spies. It's also being reported, I think you posted about it, that someone from Tass was in the Oval Office.

On this basis Jo I would imagine Trump is jealous of nearly everyone; which may explain quite a lot...

And yes of course Trump would and could never have done what Zelensky has done; which, whatever other views of him I have, requires character, patriotism and bravery.

I'm still waiting for the evidence of that one to emerge. I don't believe hearsay. If he did say that the media would release videos or voice recordings.

Having now watched the almost 0ne hour of this encounter it's clear JD Vance is either completely ignorant or malicious as Zelenskyy clearly thanks the US for their aid, bearing in mind the Mango Mussolini has nothing to do with that aid.

Putiin's Lord Haw Haws served their master.

Meanwile the highly respected news agencies Reuters and AP have been banned from the press room for asking difficult questions while Russia's Tass
that spouts Putin's lines has been given access.

Now that Putin has worn actual combat fatigues to visit the Kursk region, I wonder if the people who criticise Zelensky for not wearing a suit will be criticising Putin.
