Mars 2 Weeks ago
One part of Trump's ridiculous speech was his claim the US is going to conquer Mars and Space beyond and the Repubs cheered and clapped like seals.

So much for "saving" government spending and who will be getting the 10s of $Billions for this ridiculous boondoggle..why the very grifter who is "saving" government spending. Musk.

My 2 favorite US ladies on Youube (not recommended for MAGA fans) who don't hold back.

Yes all very silly isn't it - a largely infantile culture and the UK close behind.

Stephen Hawking said for many years that Mars will have to be the next planet for humans. Even Musk backed this up when he owned PayPal.

But if Trump or one of his successor Presidents plus NASA/Musk get a man or woman from the USA to plant the stars and stripes flag on the Martian surface you are not going to believe it are you GM. After all, you can't possibly believe we got ourselves to Mars if you don't think we even got ourselves to the moon, eh.

No life could exist on Mars. Surely? No atmosphere. No water. No fertile ground. May as well live in extravagant bunkers underground here. But proving they have money to burn so why cut off medical aid and welfare for the poorest? Cruelty.

Yes you see I personally agree - humanity is more important than countries. But I think it is possible to colonise the moon, Mars or other places. I tend not to pontificate about it as I'm not informed enough on medical advances and geological stuff, temperatures, gravity etc. Others are elected to deal with most general things and whilst I feel entitled to comment on areas I know a little about (often knowledge gained from media - not to be trusted) I also feel that those elected or otherwise "in charge" should be allowed to pursue their (hopefully informed) positions. Why waste effort and breath when it has no impact at all?

So another US / Musk rocket goes up in flames wasting endless $Billions gifted to Musk by the US taxpayer which negates a 1000 times over any savings in US expenditure by his rampaging DOGE gang of young fools.

Except of course the DOGE "savings" put 10s of 1000s of hapless US workers out of jobs and onto unemployment claims.

meanwhile Musk has tweeted (how does it do it 100s of times a day ?) that Mexico's richest man Carlos Slim (who maybe even richer than Musk in real terms) has links to Mexican drug cartels.

Result: Slim who was working on a Starlink deal with Musk has just cancelled the $7B project and is going elsewhere, mainly to China.

Tesla stock has lost 45% in 2 months.

Get out the Ouija board and speak to Stephen Hawking.

I'm not sure Musk cares much about money Hedda.

He isn't a classic "rational" businessman. What he does care about his hard to discern. I think he interviews as if his nurse is stuck in traffic with his overdue medication...

Musk will probably sell off some of his Tesla stock for a few billion, making him even more wealthy. He will then use some of the proceeds to invest more in SpaceX.

I agree and cannot fathom him. Also Carlos Slim cancelled $22B of other projects with Musk.

It's so odd to insult a future business partner and not expect blow back.

The majority of Musk's wealth is in Tesla shares and he has borrowed 10s of $Billions against them to buy twitter/ X etc.

The slump in Tesla shares have reputedly wiped half Musk's fortune.

I'm puzzled that other large shareholders and Tesla executives haven't asked Musk to step down given his propensity to harm the company.

He is still worth 342.4 billion dollars give or take.

I think he will do okay for the rest of his life Hedda.

Interesting that Slim (Mexico's richest man) has recently taken up a large slice of BT, here!

Musk's 'cuckoo' strategy is now well known, and will make new acquisitions and growth difficult.

His debt level is also suspect - but having Musk (with an office in the White House) is reminiscent of when Abramovitch was based in the Kremlin.

it's called corporate responsibility with an obligation to 100,000s of investors.

When Europe's largest Superannuation Fund sells it's Tesla shares and advises others to do likewise we have a problem.

It's not just about frigging Musk who was born into wealth and would never have to worry anyway.

Ridiculous to make such a silly sweeping statement like that just to try and be contradictory. Borders on the petty and completely ignores that when shares in a company plummet as Tesla shares have since the beginning of the year and Musk's DOGE 1000s of investors suffer.

It's just a matter of time that Tesla implodes if the current situation continues unabated with Tesla sales plummeting worldwide despite the fact EV sales have actually surged in places like Germany.

Still, America's biggest Welfare Queen can probably still rely on the $Billions in subsidies he's sent up in smoke twice this month with the Space X rocket explosions.
