Very very comforting to know that Beckham is only ten years my junior. And Tom Cruise is older than me. I'm still a youth? ...oh. lol.

Why is anything to do with this bow-legged buffoon supposed to warrant front page news??? So one of his sons didn't attend 'one' of his multiple birthday celebrations? And that's NEWS???

I don't mind celebrities but I find the Beckhams oddly very boring.

Cruise looks very old, it's amazing what makeup and airbrushing can do.

Beckham is trying to be a Sir; he is doing what he can to bury his association with Diddy and Brand. It's strange that the media always followed him around, but not other footballers unless they crashed a car or fired air rifles out of windows.

The media has always been obsessed with Beckham. And for me he was very overrated as a player. He was very good, but paled into insignificance against the greatest. Zinedine Zidane is still by far the greatest player I have ever seen play. Dennis Bergkamp second. Diego Maradona the third. The top three for pace and just sheer creativity.

Agree about Zidane but De Bruyne up there too. Great players have varied talents; his assists were often genius.

Dennis Bergkamp is another one with "Do you know who I am?" syndrome. No one can top Garth Crooks with that one line. When I said I don't have a clue, he gave me a stern and angry look. A collegue said that he was a footballer and big in the 80s. I told him in the 1980s I was in the States working, and I hate poofball. This was about 30 years ago.

I have no idea why the media loved Beckham; he can't even speak properly, yet he is now a WEF member. I wonder who is blackmailing whom for him to be at WEF.

I still remember the back to back news cycle of when Beckham left the UK for Spain; no other player got coverage because of moving teams.
