TOPIC: Obama 55% - Hillary 27% !

Obama 55% - Hillary 27% ! 16 Years, 3 Months ago
Even allowing for the large black vote in South Carolina, this is a stunning win (and we've already seen that Obama can win in places like Iowa, where there is virtually NO black vote !).

Onwards and Upwards !

I like both of them but favour Hillary as President with Obama as VP - poised to take over in 8 years after he's gained the experience.

Funnily enough I had a dream last night about Rudy Guiliani - dressed as a Priest!

I must say I do hope this doesn't turn into a reverse racism thing - blacks for Obama, women for Clinton etc.

What do you think of the decision of the Kennedys to back Osama?

They were (apparently) good friends with the Clintons, but have backed away from them following the smears in recent weeks.

It already has. What will damage however Hillary is her husband. American commentators report a real desire for change; change from the dynastic families- Kennedys, Clintons and most of all the Bushes.

I think Teddy Kennedy endorsing Obama is a huge, huge boost (as long as he doesn't drive the tour bus).

Another two contenders bite the dust !

Edwards was always lagging Hillary / Obama ... but the real shock is Rudi Giuliani - who had only campaigned in Florida (a hotbed of loony blue-rinsed Neo-Con Republicans) and one commentator said "The more they saw of him - the less they liked him !"

Yes - I rather liked Rudy - as Mayor of New York he improved the city without destroying too many civil liberties - was on the side of abortion, gays etc and was a quite NYC Republican, so would not have appealed at all to the right wingers.

Mind you, McCain also talks a lot of sense (and some very odd rubbish) - I fear he's got a screw loose and might be a dangerous President.

Having said that, Bush hasn't even got one screw in place!

I still think Hillary AND Obama would be a killer team for 16 years.

Agreed !

I doubt they would run together, though ... if one loses the candidacy then I expect they will take a back seat for another four years.

Arnie backs McCain.

When I interviewed the then bodybuilder in 1980 on my radio show on WMCA in New York, I predicted he'd be a future President.

I was told it was impossible as he's not a US citizen.

Now he's Governor (very good I gather) of California. Who would bet against him as a future Republican President?
