I wasnt a member of the Fourth Estate in the 80's but nowdays taking drugs on the premises of a newspaper is an instant sackable offence. I know you love these hypocritical rants but really JK, were the Sun staff snorting and shooting up drugs in the toilets in 85?
Well Walter, in the mid 80's when Rupert moved everyone to Wapping, a NO ALCOHOL policy was brought in for all News Int papers (damn good idea I thought - got rid of some of the boozers) - I became very popular with the Subs as I gave them huge boxes of Liqueur Chocolates every Xmas.
But yes, most show biz journos were snorting white powder like crazy (drugs were never my thing) instead of boozing.
These days? Who knows but surely you would need serious anaesthetic to work with the appalling Wade woman?
