TOPIC: The Bill - quality television

The Bill - quality television 16 Years, 2 Months ago
The eight part story that just concluded was very well written, acted, produced and directed.

They have kept their standards high since I first raved about them in my column in The Sun in the 80's (and got a thank you letter for being one of their only supporters at the time).

I stopped being a regular viewer once it became a Soap and they had a string of highly unlikely psychopathic officers. I did catch part of an episode last week where they were preparing to launch surpise dawn raids on a block of flats. The DCI was standing in the courtyard giving his instructions in a fairly loud voice. The researchers obviously failed to realise how voices carry when you're talking in the courtyard of a square block of flats. In reality the residents would have been alerted well before the police clambered up the stairs.

Then again, that might be a realistic reflection of police intelligence.

Yeah got to admit I have to disagree with you here JK - The Bill was really good in it's half hour crime of the episode chunks but with the soapy aspects coming into play for the last few years in my opinion it became boring and predictable. Used to be much watch tv for me
