Not sure on the quota of innocents killed by the US alone compared with that of the rest of the world, but it must be billions. That's the body count which includes the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Vietnam war,Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan...it is only 'terrorism' when it's committed against the USA or the UK...otherwise it becomes 'God's Will' as Bush declared back in 2002. In that sense we are no different to Osama Bin Laden and company. We hide behing a supernatural being to justify our evil.

I'm convinced that's why religion was invented. If God is behind us then it must be OK.

Might I claim the post of the week prize?

It has always puzzled me Victor - it's like the pro-capital punishment crowd.

Killing people is awful so we must kill people.

???

I wonder if it would have been a defence that God said it was OK to have sex with teenage boys who wanted to have sex with me?

A few priests could have used that one.

It really is THAT simple, victor (thanks for reminding us).

For example, someone who kills people by gassing them is an evil despot and MUST be removed (let's leave aside, for now, the fact that he was largely put in power BY the USA, but has now turned against them !)

Whereas, another "leader" who happens to have his opponents boiled alive is apparently OK - the word despot has never been uttered against him ! I wonder why that can be (let's also leave aside, for now, the fact that THIS despot currently allows the USA to have a base on his country from which it is very convenient to bomb Afghanistan and Iraq - as well as keeping a close "eye" on the Societs, just across the border. This country is also - allegedly ! - a regular stopping-off stop for those nice little holidays called "extraordinary rendition")

I'm really puzzled .... can anyone help ?

I'll help.

Money and power are God.

If there is money or power to be gained by the 'superior west' then it is legitimate, if there is not it's terroism.

Don't forget Oil and Gas, too Godiver.

Iraq is really about oil, and Afghanistan is to "take control" of the area for the new gas pipeline.

I do like Prince Charles but when he goes on about our brave soldiers and the dangers they face I do wonder... does he really not consider the dangers others face when confronted by armed British soldiers?

I'm clearly not quite seeing things correctly.
