When Linda died a friend of mine in New York, Danny Fields the manager of the Ramones and oneof Linda's oldest frinds was offered a tidy sun to write a book on Linda and a film script about 2 years later.

He rang Paul for some information-McCartney begged him not to do and Fields said " but I really need the money badly and I 've known her all my life -longer then you-unless you want to buy the project from me " (peanuts). McCartney refused.

I think his legendary meaness is well founded
