Someone fairly well connected to the Haut de la Garenne home saga this tells me this is all going to fade to the very back pages of newspapers after the world-wide sensational stories that originally appeared as a few facts are beginning to emerge.

they include
1. the bones found that still may be those of a child appear to be nearly 200 years old, pre-dating the home.

2. local council plans have been found that show the so-called subterranean "torture chambers" with their hidden doors were actually normal renovations done decades ago-old bathrooms just walled up cheaply. Although the handcuffs are a mystery it was only after the story of them appeared in newspaper reports that people came forward claiming to have been handcuffed to a bath.

3. which brings us to another oddity-so far there have been so many people coming forward claiming to have been abused there, authorities are finding it difficult to work out how they could have all fitted in the place over the years as many records are missing.

4. Private Eye also has a story about the "sniffer" dogs used to dramatically discover bones everywhere-they are the same dogs that were taken to Portugaul and discovered Madeleine's blood in the boot of the McCann's car and on the walls of the villa-all later dismissed by forensic scientists.

Nice puppies but they are now owned by a private firm ( what isn't these days ?) and hired out to the police.
They need a well deserved retirement.

There will be some people charged but it's all miniscule compared to the original story.

I was wondering what happened to that.

If it does all turn out to be hogwash, will the media tell us? Or will they just hope people forget?

I bet you there will be a few historic prosecutions (to justify the spend and the coverage)- highly over coloured and with appalling language - culminating in a few Vile Perverts in their 80's convicted, a few large compensation/tabloid payment fees paid out and then it will disappear into the ether whilst another ghastly scandal will emerge from somewhere else... provoking howls of MONSTERS from the media and new laws taking up huge sums and energy and effort with no serious consideration of consequences.

Which will be further awful abusers getting away with it whilst everyone is looking the other way.

It'll disappear just in time for Gary Glitter's release in May, then hysteria will reign supreme again!
