Re:Why are they pulling the shivering dog ad? 16 Years ago
So it wasn`t Winalot then?
Of course , it this daft world it couldn`t be , or they would have appeared to advertise that if a dog ate the product it would develop into a soul singer.

I think that it's a FABULOUS ad - great track from Spencer Davis.
It's certainly the most striking ad since the Cadbury's
'Gorilla', which used that Phil Collins track.
By far the most successful ads are those that use classic music tracks and blend them with original and unusual images.

The singing dog advert was on ITV4 last night, so it doesn't look like it's been pulled altogether. Maybe they've moved it to post watershed.
It's certainly a striking ad, but I'd never noted what it was advertising until I read it on here. Same with the gorilla ad - the product got lost in the production.
Several products are planted in my mind from adverts over the years; notably "For Mash get Smash", "Beanz Meanz Heinz", "Fry's Turkish Delight" and "Any time any place anywhere .... that's Martini". Great slogans and catchy tunes, each directing to the product.
The dog advert is a great work of art but it misses the main purpose, which is to promote the product. Many modern adverts are the same.
