I've always wondered how a few randomly chosen members of the public are supposed to be worldly wise and impartial on any given topic. People who buy diet coke and chocolate are hardly qualified to use their brains.

It's about time they had some kind of entrance exam for jury service or just abolish it and use common sense. Or are we only interested in convictions , especially if they are celebrities ?

Very true, Mike. I certainly wouldn't want my fate resting in the hands of a cross section of the great British public.

Only problem is, where is the common sense you talk about going to come from?
