TOPIC: Government act unlawfully

Government act unlawfully 16 Years, 1 Month ago
I'm getting very muddled here... the Government, who we elect, make the laws which then Judges decide are Unlawful.

I'm sorry. I'm confused. We are all mad, in my definition.

if your refering to the judges throwing out the government rules of immigrants here jk, yes it is odd and it does seem that we no longer know what we are doing.

the law gets made by parliament and then ignored or disobeyed by judges who say it is unlawful.

sometimes one side is wrong and sometimes the other but it is becoming ridiculous.

nobody knows where they stand any more.

Nothing confusing about it really. Government must act within the law, just as we must. If they want to do something that is currently unlawful then they must first change the law to make it lawful. They did not change the law, just decided to ignore it. The judges must apply the law as it's written, even if those who wrote it break it.

Not much different to the government setting rules about MPs expenditure and then it's own ministers breaking said rules. Just because they are in government doesn't mean they can do whatever they please.

I'm glad we have a judiciary which is independent from government and able to rule against them when they are wrong.

When Michael Howard took away our right to silence, he was ruled to have acted unlawfully. I, for one, am glad about that.

Government act unlawfully again !!! 16 Years ago
SFO probe into BAE Systems dodgy deals with the Saudis - stopped by Toady B-Liar - was illegal according to the High Court. That's not very clear is it? It was the decision to stop the probe that was unlawful !
