Excellent article. I've read some of his work before, and have had some contact with Claire Curtis Thomas regarding the Home Affairs Committee findings. She was quite alarmed by her government's response.

This is a deep rooted serious problem within the UK. I shudder to think how many innocent people have been wrongly convicted. Then we have to consider how each person't life touches so many others, and how many relatives, friends and colleagues of those wrongly convicted have also suffered. Maybe the largest consequence of these 'witch hunts' is the severe loss of respect for and trust in the police and the legal system by a growing number of ordinary citizens as they become aware of the reality.

Each new wrongful conviction is another nail in the coffin of society as we've known it. A successful society is built on trust and can only collapse without it.

I'm off to see my solicitor about compo for the boarding school I went to. No abuse to speak of but the bathrooms were shocking and I reckon the chains that held the bath plugs had a more sinister motive..

Speak to the police first - there'll be plenty of evidence when you have spoken to them !

If it turns out that you weren't abused - you may be able to claim compensation for having been deprived (the rejection has left a stigma !) LOL

quote - "A number of bloodstained items have been found in two secret underground chambers at a former children's home in Jersey, police say".

well knock me down with a feather..but kids do bleed at school or in homes !

I read that at the Jersey rally -one "victim" said he was abused by 2 older boys who were meant to look after him but instead bullied him and beat him up !!

Now I feel sorry for him but I'd like compo for all the times I was beaten up in school ( and I hope the kids I decked don't come after me)
