Chris Langham to address Oxford Union 16 Years ago
Actor Chris Langham, jailed for downloading child pornography, is to address the Oxford Union.
The Bafta award-winner will talk to students on 27 May about his conviction and his "vilification" in the media, union president Ben Tansey said.
He said Langham had been invited because he was a respected figure in his profession.

Everyone should be entitled to re-build their lives after serving their sentence-whether they are an award winning Bafta writer or just a truckie. How else can society operate ?.
I was appaled to read the NoTW state that they would be waiting for Gary Glitter when he got out of jail in Vietnam as though he was an object for them to harangue until the cows come home.
Then again-if they just lost 20 mill maybe they won't have the budget !

Modern Britain is not about forgivness, rehabilitation or giving people second chances. Those with convictions are outcasts from society for the rest of their lives, forcing them to only mix with "those of their own kind" and drop back into their criminal ways because they are given no alternative.
A few defy this trend and show that there can be life after a conviction, but many do not have the nerve or the opportunity.
Chris Langham is doing the right thing by not withdrawing from society.
